Night Basketball And Books (NBAB) is a tutoring program whose mission is to provide at-risk children, youth and young adults the tools to succeed. These include:

Academic Goals as measured against statewide grade level standards and qualify at graduation age for admission to the University of California system.

Cultural Literacy through exposure to performing and visual arts and the ethnic history of the diverse cultural groups within the community.

Life Skills to teach teamwork, discipline, conflict resolution, organizational and time management.

Tutors are needed for two hour shifts on Tuesday and Thursday nights between 4-8pm. No skills are needed - beyond patience and caring!  Learn More here...

NBAB was founded in 1994 by church leaders in the Pasadena area with vision, heart and a modest amount of funding. At our beginning we provided a place for young people to gather with adult mentors. Each week a dozen or so teenagers and a few volunteers played basketball and shared meals as an alternative to drugs and gangs. In 1997, Night Basketball And Books incorporated as an independent non-profit organization. Today we fill a vital need in the lives of hundreds of children, youth, young adults, and their families, throughout the west San Gabriel Valley.

Vintage Pasadena 2006 - join us for our annual fundraising event, Vintage Pasadena. It's a great evening of fine wine, gourmet food, beautiful music, and both live and silent auctions.
